વડોદરા. “ગાંધી બિયોન્ડ બોર્ડર્સ: ગ્લોબલ લેન્ડસ્કેપમાં ગાંધી વિચારની સુસંગતતા” વિષય પર સેન્ટ્રલ યુનિવર્સિટી ઓફ ગુજરાત ખાતે આયોજિત ત્રણ દિવસીય રાષ્ટ્રીય સેમિનારનું ઉદ્ઘાટન સત્ર ગુરુવારે થયું. ઇન્ડિયન સોસાયટી ઓફ ગાંધીયન સ્ટડીઝ (ISGS) અને યુનિવર્સિટીના સેન્ટર ફોર ગાંધીયન થોટ એન્ડ પીસ સ્ટડીઝ દ્વારા સંયુક્ત રીતે આયોજિત આ કોન્ફરન્સમાં દેશભરના શિક્ષણવિદો, સંશોધકો અને ગાંધીવાદી વિચારકોએ ભાગ લીધો હતો. કોન્ફરન્સના મુખ્ય મહેમાન, ઇગ્ઝોરિયલ ગ્રુપ ઓફ ઇન્ડસ્ટ્રીઝના સ્થાપક ભગવતી મહેશ બલદવાએ તેમના સંબોધનમાં જણાવ્યું હતું કે મહાત્મા ગાંધીનો પ્રભાવ સમગ્ર વિશ્વમાં સ્પષ્ટ છે. તેમણે ટિપ્પણી કરી હતી કે ગાંધીજીની આત્મકથાએ વૈશ્વિક સ્તરે સકારાત્મક પરિવર્તન લાવવામાં મુખ્ય ભૂમિકા ભજવી છે. તેમણે વધુમાં નોંધ્યું હતું કે ગાંધીજીના વિચારો ભારતની *સનાતન* (શાશ્વત) સાંસ્કૃતિક પરંપરાથી નોંધપાત્ર શક્તિ મેળવે છે.
આ કાર્યક્રમના અધ્યક્ષસ્થાને, યુનિવર્સિટીના કુલપતિ (પ્રભારી), પ્રો. અતનુ ભટ્ટાચાર્યએ અવલોકન કર્યું કે સ્થાનો અને જગ્યાઓનું અન્વેષણ ગાંધીજીના જીવનનું એક મહત્વપૂર્ણ પરિમાણ હતું. તેમણે ગાંધીજીના જીવનના વિવિધ પાસાઓ, તેમની યાત્રાઓ અને ચોક્કસ સ્થળોના મહત્વ પર વિગતવાર પ્રકાશ પાડ્યો. ગાંધીજીના *આત્મકાલ* (સ્વનું ક્ષેત્ર), *રાષ્ટ્રકાલ* (રાષ્ટ્રનું ક્ષેત્ર) અને *વિશ્વકાલ* (વિશ્વનું ક્ષેત્ર) ના ખ્યાલો સમજાવતી વખતે, તેમણે રવિન્દ્રનાથ ટાગોર અને ગાંધીજી વચ્ચે થયેલા પત્રવ્યવહારનો પણ ઉલ્લેખ કર્યો. તેમણે પરિષદના સફળ સંચાલન માટે શુભેચ્છાઓ પાઠવી. પરિષદના મુખ્ય વક્તા, પ્રો. સતીશ રાયે સત્ય, અહિંસા અને પ્રેમ અંગે ગાંધીજીના વિચારોની વિગતવાર ચર્ચા કરી. તેમણે ભારપૂર્વક જણાવ્યું કે ગાંધીજીનો સત્યનો ખ્યાલ શાશ્વત છે અને તેમાં અસંમતિ કે ભિન્નતાની કોઈ શક્યતા નથી. ગાંધીજીની અહિંસાને સકારાત્મક વિચારસરણી અને ફિલસૂફીના સ્વરૂપ તરીકે વર્ણવતા, તેમણે તેને બહાદુરોના ગુણ તરીકે વર્ણવ્યું. તેમણે જણાવ્યું હતું કે અહિંસા ફક્ત ચોક્કસ ભૌતિક સ્થાનો જ નહીં, પણ મન, બુદ્ધિ અને આત્માને પણ જીતી લેવાની ક્ષમતા ધરાવે છે. તેમણે વર્તમાન યુગમાં ગાંધીવાદી વિચારની સમકાલીન સુસંગતતા પર પણ પ્રકાશ પાડ્યો. બધા મહેમાનોનું સ્વાગત કરતા, કોન્ફરન્સ ડિરેક્ટર, પ્રો. જનક સિંહ મીણાએ ટિપ્પણી કરી કે આ કાર્યક્રમ ફક્ત એક શૈક્ષણિક કાર્યક્રમ નથી, પરંતુ ગાંધીજીના સમકાલીન વિચારોને આત્મસાત કરવાની તક છે. તેમણે ભાર મૂક્યો કે ગાંધીજીના સિદ્ધાંતો અને વિચારો આજના સમયમાં ખૂબ જ સુસંગત છે. તેમણે જણાવ્યું હતું કે ત્રણ દિવસીય કોન્ફરન્સ દરમિયાન કુલ 16 શૈક્ષણિક સત્રોનું આયોજન કરવામાં આવશે. આ પ્રસંગે, ઇન્ડિયન સોસાયટી ઓફ ગાંધીયન સ્ટડીઝ (ISGS) ના પ્રમુખ પ્રો. સુધિર જેનાએ સોસાયટીની પ્રવૃત્તિઓ અને ઉદ્દેશ્યોની ઝાંખી આપી. કાર્યક્રમના સમાપન પર, સોસાયટીના જનરલ સેક્રેટરી, પ્રો. સીતારામ ચૌધરીએ તમામ મહેમાનો અને સહભાગીઓનો આભાર માન્યો.
गुजरात केंद्रीय विश्वविद्यालय में गांधीवादी विचारों की वैश्विक प्रासंगिकता पर तीन दिवसीय राष्ट्रीय संगोष्ठी का शुभारंभ
वडोदरा। गुजरात केंद्रीय विश्वविद्यालय में “सीमाओं से परे गाँधी: वैश्विक परिदृश्य में गाँधीवादी विचारों की प्रासंगिकता” विषय पर आयोजित तीन दिवसीय राष्ट्रीय संगोष्ठी का उद्घाटन सत्र गुरुवार को सम्पन्न हुआ। इंडियन सोसाइटी ऑफ गांधीयन स्टडीज (ISGS) एवं विश्वविद्यालय के गाँधीवादी विचार एवं शांति अध्ययन केन्द्र द्वारा संयुक्त रूप से आयोजित इस सम्मेलन में देशभर से शिक्षाविदों, शोधार्थियों एवं गांधीवादी चिंतकों ने सहभागिता की। सम्मेलन की मुख्य अतिथि इग्जोरियल ग्रुप ऑफ इंडस्ट्रीज की फाउंडर भगवती महेश बल्दवा ने अपने संबोधन में कहा कि महात्मा गाँधी का प्रभाव पूरी दुनिया में दिखाई देता है। उन्होंने कहा कि गाँधी की आत्मकथा ने विश्व में सकारात्मक परिवर्तन लाने का कार्य किया है। उन्होंने बताया कि भारत की सनातन सांस्कृतिक परंपरा से गाँधी के विचारों को विशेष बल मिला। कार्यक्रम की अध्यक्षता करते हुए विश्वविद्यालय के कुलपति (प्रभारी) प्रो. अतनु भट्टाचार्य ने कहा कि स्थल का परिदर्शन गाँधी के जीवन का महत्वपूर्ण आयाम था। उन्होंने गाँधी के विविध जीवन पक्षों, यात्राओं तथा स्थान विशेष की महत्ता पर विस्तार से प्रकाश डाला। उन्होंने गाँधी के आत्मकाल, राष्ट्रकाल और विश्वकाल की अवधारणाओं को स्पष्ट करते हुए रविन्द्रनाथ टैगोर और गाँधी के मध्य हुए पत्राचार का भी उल्लेख किया। उन्होंने सम्मेलन के सफल आयोजन के लिए शुभकामनाएँ दीं। कार्यक्रम के मुख्य वक्ता प्रो. सतीश राय ने गाँधी के सत्य, अहिंसा और प्रेम संबंधी विचारों पर विस्तार से चर्चा की। उन्होंने कहा कि गाँधी का सत्य शाश्वत है तथा उसमें मतांतर की कोई संभावना नहीं है। उन्होंने गाँधी की अहिंसा को सकारात्मक चिंतन एवं दर्शन बताते हुए इसे वीरों का गुण बताया। उन्होंने कहा कि अहिंसा केवल स्थान विशेष को ही नहीं बल्कि मन, चित्त और आत्मा को भी जीतने की क्षमता रखती है। उन्होंने वर्तमान समय में गाँधीवादी विचारों की प्रासंगिकता पर भी प्रकाश डाला। सम्मेलन के निदेशक प्रो. जनक सिंह मीना ने सभी अतिथियों का स्वागत करते हुए कहा कि यह आयोजन केवल एक शैक्षणिक कार्यक्रम नहीं, बल्कि गाँधी के समकालीन विचारों को आत्मसात करने का अवसर है। उन्होंने कहा कि गाँधी के सिद्धांत एवं विचार वर्तमान समय में अत्यंत प्रासंगिक हैं। उन्होंने बताया कि तीन दिवसीय सम्मेलन के दौरान कुल 16 शैक्षणिक सत्र आयोजित किए जाएंगे। इस अवसर पर इंडियन सोसाइटी ऑफ गांधीयन स्टडीज (ISGS) की अध्यक्ष प्रो. सुधीरा जेना ने सोसाइटी की गतिविधियों एवं उद्देश्यों की जानकारी दी। कार्यक्रम के अंत में सोसाइटी के महासचिव प्रो. सीताराम चौधरी ने सभी अतिथियों एवं प्रतिभागियों का धन्यवाद ज्ञापित किया।
Three-Day National Seminar on the Global Relevance of Gandhian Thought Inaugurated at Central University of Gujarat
Vadodara. The inaugural session of a three-day national seminar on the theme “Gandhi Beyond Boundaries: Relevance of Gandhian Thought in a Global World” was held on Thursday at the Central University of Gujarat. The seminar has been jointly organized by the Indian Society of Gandhian Studies (ISGS) and the Department of Gandhian Thought and Peace Studies of the university. Academicians, research scholars, and Gandhian thinkers from across the country are participating in the conference. Chief Guest Bhagwati Mahesh Baldwa, Founder of Exorial Group of Industries, said in her address that the influence of Mahatma Gandhi can be seen across the world. She stated that Gandhi’s autobiography has played a significant role in bringing positive change globally. She further added that India’s Sanatan cultural tradition gave special strength to Gandhian ideas. Presiding over the session, Vice-Chancellor (In-Charge) of the university, Prof. Atanu Bhattacharya, said that the exploration of places was an important dimension of Gandhi’s life. He elaborated on various aspects of Gandhi’s life, his journeys, and the significance of different places associated with him. Explaining the concepts of Gandhi’s self-time, national-time, and world-time, he also referred to the correspondence between Rabindranath Tagore and Mahatma Gandhi. He extended his best wishes for the successful organization of the seminar.The keynote speaker, Prof. Satish Rai, spoke in detail about Gandhi’s ideas of truth, non-violence, and love. He said that Gandhi’s concept of truth is eternal and leaves no scope for differences of opinion. Describing Gandhi’s non-violence as a philosophy of positive thinking, he termed it a virtue of the brave. He added that non-violence possesses the power to win not only places but also minds, consciousness, and souls. He also highlighted the relevance of Gandhian thought in contemporary times. Welcoming the guests, Seminar Director Prof. Janak Singh Meena said that the event is not merely an academic programme, but also an opportunity to imbibe Gandhi’s contemporary ideas. He remarked that Gandhian principles and thoughts are highly relevant in the present era. He informed that a total of 16 academic sessions will be conducted during the three-day seminar. On this occasion, President of the Indian Society of Gandhian Studies (ISGS), Prof. Sudhira Jena, shared information about the activities and objectives of the society. At the end of the programme, the General Secretary of the society, Prof. Sitaram Choudhary, expressed gratitude to all the guests and participants.
